Little Frog

Here's a little fellow from the Topanga Creek. Apparently it's called a Cadaver Frog, because it turns a ghostly white color when under water.  Held by Topanga Naturist Delmar Lathers.

Wild Greens

Went on a wild food gathering expedition last weekend.  We ate nasturtiums, chickweed, milk thistle stalks, radish flowers, radish seed pods, miner's lettuce, sow thistle, fennel and more.  And got to play with frogs, lizards and reptiles.  This image is from a much wetter spring a couple of years ago. Then we also had sour grass, blue dicks and I forgot the name of the long ones... deer tongue?  Along with mustard spinach and chanterelles. 

Mother Nature rules!  And so do my outdoor savvy friends. =)

Cottage

We have funky little cottages.  This one is known as the "Princess Cottage".  The builder took advantage of the fact that you don't need a permit for structures no bigger than 10' x 12'.

There is a Grand Canyon Line railroad boxcar installed across the creek.  It serves as office and bridge to my car mechanic.  Another patriot.

Signs

Here's what the parents of elementary school kids look at every day, waiting for the light at Topanga School Rd.  Signs announcing soccer matches, the party animals / hire-a-herd / petting zoo, holiday art classes and kids yoga.

We have a party animals petting zoo, that also provides hire-a-herd brush clearance.

Cold, tangy and delicious.  Made from scratch, and sold by this enterprising 5 year old.

Cork Car

Been working in creative Santa Monica where I spotted this car.  It's a Toyota, covered with wine corks all over.

Atlatl

Honey Bees

There's a bunch of happy bees, dipping into the rue flowers on a sunny morning.

Yurt

We have yurts, and people living in them.  And the grass is greenest in February.  =)

It's a bit late in the season for the Santa hat... but we do have happy crocodiles.

We have weekend yardsales.  Like this one, featuring flowery dresses and fancy millinery.  The hats were made by Claire, the French owner of the Mimosa Cafe.
